Saturday Afternoon Tournaments at Southern Comfort
Southern Comfort is adding Saturday afternoons to The Atlanta Poker Club line-up of tournaments. 
The Saturday afternoon tournaments begin this Saturday November 29th. Sign-up at 12:00 (noon) Cards-Fly at 1:00pm. This Saturdays tournament
feature Deep Stack Poker as well as swag dvd prizes. Southern Comfort is the best place to play poker in Lawrenceville.

The Sportsline will be offering “Deep-Stack”. They will also be offering a Thanksgiving buffet to all those who attend.

Season 15 Allstars
There is so much to be said about The Allstar Tournament. I have been around and involved in them for over a year now and each one grows in terms of prestige and importance. This feeling is pervasive and grows during such a tournament as players are eliminated and the realization that this is a Big Deal hits home to the remaining field.
Take a look at the Player Profile Blogs and you will see a recurring theme. I want to win the Allstars! So, its not a physical or monetary prize that makes this one Big. Its honour, prestige and respect. The winner of an Allstar tournament is indeed (like the Grand Champion) given a huge responsibility as an Ambassador so to speak for the next season and joins an elite group in the APC Hall of Fame. What an Honour!!

Election Day – Tuesday November, 4 2008
Tuesday November 4th, 2008 is Election Day. It is also a Big Tournament Night for the Atlanta Poker Club with three tournaments that play each Tuesday.

- Silver Coin Venue at The Bottom of the Cup
- Mike’s Down Under in Jefferson
Record turn out is excpected at the polls on Tuesday. Don’t forget to vote and wear your “I Voted” sticker to one of these Venues on Tuesday Night and receive an extra 500 chip.

Did you know that the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November was picked to accommodate male farmers in the agrarian society of the early 19th Century. After the Fall Harvest and using Sunday as a day of rest, Monday was used as a day of travel to far away voting locations. This “Tuesday” became official by a proclamation from President Tyler in 1845.
