Calendar Changes for April ‘09

  • Discontinued Venues
  • The Quater’s Cajun Bar & Grill -last day- Sunday, March 22nd.
  • Jeffreys Alpharetta -last day-Thursday April 2nd.
  • Starzoni’s Sports Bar & Pizza -last day- Wednesday – April 1st.

Winter ‘09 ends March 31st. This is the last day to earn points for Winter ‘09 (yes, on a Tuesday).

Summer ‘09 begins April 1st.

So, what is going on? How will this work many APC’ers ask?

The first week of Summer ‘09 is also Venue Championship Week and Last Chance Qualifying Week.

Venue Championships – are venue specific and usually the top 10 or 20 from that venue battling it out for the Venue Championship. For example;

A venue that plays one night a week will hold a single table sit-n-go with the Top 10 in points at that venue playing for the title of Venue Champion. A venue that plays on multiple nights will hold a multi-table tournament with the Top 10 in points from each of the nights that they play. Check with your Tournament Director for the night of your Venue Championship.

All Venue Championships will offer points towards Summer ‘09 based upon the number of players that play.

Last Chance Qualifying – All Venues during this week will hold a standard tournament that will offer a LC seat in The Winter ‘09 Seasonal Grand Championship Event. The Last Chance Qualifying seat will be awarded to a player that has a minimum of 100 points on the overall leaderboard and has not already earned a seat elsewhere. The player does not have to win that particular tournament but be the last player standing that meets the 100 point requirement and has not earned a seat elsewhere.

Some of these Last chance tournaments will be played at the same time Venue Championship Tournaments are being played and points will be earned toward Summer ‘09 based upon player entry.

Winter ‘09 Allstars

This is an update post about Allstars for Winter ‘09.  The Winter ‘09 Allstar Event will be held Saturday, March 14th.  Good Luck Everyone!

The Allstar Race for Winter ‘09 with The Atlanta Poker Club is shaping up. Being an APC Allstar is being invited to play one of the most prestigious tournaments of The Altanta Poker Club. Players who qualify for this tournament know they are playing some of the most skilled high caliber poker players in the Metro Atlanta area. Have you got the right stuff?

Here is how to qualify to become an Allstar for Winter ‘09

  • Accumulate 1800 points on the Overall Leaderboard by February 22nd.
  • Be the points leader at any one venue by February 22nd.
  • Be the Winner of the January Monthly Points Challenge.

Allstar Tournament Prizes

  • The Allstar Champion will win $150 in gift cards and a custom APC card guard plus a seat in the Yearly Championship Tournament in April. (Note: This includes Seasons 14 and 15)
  • 2nd place will win $50 in gift cards plus a seat in the Yearly Championship Tournament in April. (Note: This includes Seasons 14 and 15)
  • 3rd place will win $25 in gift cards plus a seat in the Yearly Championship Tournament in April. (Note: This includes Seasons 14 and 15)
  • All Allstars automatically qualify in the Season Championship Tournament
