APC 6th Anniversary | April 20th At Twisted Tavern In Suwanee
The 5th Anniversary was a rousing success with 155 players showing up to celebrate. Geraldo Weekes took down the whole tournament. Check out the 5th Anniversary pictures! .
It’s been six great years that the Atlanta Poker Club has been bringing the best Texas Hold’em poker games to bars and restaurants in the Metro Atlanta area.
The Atlanta Poker Club would like to reward all the APC players and especially the ones who have been around since the beginning.
This coming Tuesday, April 20th, we will be having a special tournament to celebrate our 6th anniversary but we are giving you the presents. There will be a gift for everyone who attends!
All APC players are invited to attend and play. You can win points and the usual bar prize. We will give first, second, and third place an extra prize!
We will have a special “old timers” table, and below is a list of the people that are eligible to start the tournament at that table. If you believe you should be on this list you may send a PM to Erin Hall at A/J girl on the forum and the list will be updated.
We look forward to seeing you and we hope you will come out and help celebrate six great years of poker with many more to come.

Wine Tasting And Poker At Sycamore Grill

Since when do hard driven Texas Hold’em players stop long enough to smell the roses…or in this case, taste the wine?
The Atlanta Poker Club has introduced a little bit of that Southern charm while playing poker at the Sycamore Grill in Stone Mountain on Wednesdays. You can stay at the tables while eating that plate from the buffet, or experiencing introduction to a new wine, or sitting on the veranda…yes, I said veranda, at the break.
Play is intense but the atmosphere is pure fun and laughter, and that Southern touch adds a dimension to our favorite game.
Lady Luck still presents those interesting hands! This is pocket 7’s, twice, and look at that board! Did anyone say, “Split pot!”

Women Rock At The Atlanta Poker Club

Karen Brooks Tops The Leaderboard!
They took it down! For the first time in Atlanta Poker Club (APC) history, the women rocked the leaderboard. There were six women in the top 10 at season’s end.
Were they trailing the top men players? No way! It was two women vying for first place. Karen Brooks had the lead through the season, but Sonya Nicovich Miller was playing to win. The four month long Winter Season ‘10 had plenty of time for some spirited competition at every tournament played. Who would be the points leader when the cards were mucked and the season over? With 5,000 members in the APC, 1,563 getting points, which player would take it down!

Congratulations Top 10 Winter Season 10!
Karen Brooks stayed strong and kept the lead. Asked what had improved her game the most, she said, “Dealing.” Karen went on to say, “You can do all the right things including make the right read, but the river can still send you home.” River or not, she ended the season in first place! Sonya Miller finished second! The face of poker definitely changed at the APC! Congratulations to all the players in the top of the leaderboard this season. These women have shown that it takes more than luck to be good at poker with the APC! Much more skill involved in texas holdem than in a game like let it ride poker!
Congratulations to Karen for games well played, a sense of humor that remained intact, grace under pressure, and for being the winner in every sense of the word! You go, Girl!
