Grand Championship – Summer Season ‘10
Our Summer Season ‘10 is just about over. It extends from April 1st through July 31st.
The Grand Championship tournament is the largest event of any APC season! Attending this event allows you to have the true casino tournament experience including the use of antes as the blinds increase and every type of competitor to test your skill!
There are many ways that you can qualify:
- Top 50 in Overall Points for the Season
- Top 10 in any qualfied Venue Points Race for the Season (qualified venue has to play 8 times)
- Win a Season Venue Championship Tournament
- Win a $500 Monthly Points Tournament
- Win the $500 Monthly Points Race
Current Players Qualifying by being in the top 50 Overall in Points and the Top 10 in Each Venue
Here are your $500 Monthly Points Tournaments, and we already have players qualified! The $500 Monthly tournaments include the top 60 for one month playing against each other for a $500 prize pool. Those top 60 qualifiers are located on a separate leaderboard. Here’s July Monthly Qualifying.

Just win one of the Monthly Points Races and you automatically win $100 and a seat in the Grand Championship. And we already have qualifiers!

If you can just make the top 10 in any qualified venue by the end of July 31st, you will be in the Grand Championship. Here are a list of current venues, more venues may be added, and if they play 8 times, you will qualify.

Remember that in the smaller venues you may have a better chance of qualifying, so keep that in mind.
You can also qualify at the end of the season, when the Venue Championships are playing.
These are the top 10 players in points at that specific venue playing against each other to win the Venue Championship. If there are multiple nights, then you may play against 20, or 30, or 40 other players for the title. These Venue Championships take place the first week of the new season, and points earned go toward the new season.
There is plenty of time and multiple ways to earn your way into the Grand Championship. Win a Grand Championship as Kerm King did for Winter Season ‘10, and win a place in the APC Hall of Fame! Good luck!


“Ante Up” – Your Poker Magazine
“Ante Up” is your monthly poker magazine that the Atlanta Poker Club is giving away free at all venues playing!
This poker magazine has a broad spectrum of information that keeps us informed about events in our area. Information includes poker camps, poker cruises, casino locations, the latest event winners at casinos near us, upcoming poker tournaments, and features on rising poker stars. Each month you can find one hand submitted by a player analyzed and discussed. If you are a newbie and haven’t even been to a casino to play, the picture of all the tables containing 800 players at WSOP Circuit Event 4 at Harrah’s Casino in Tunica will give you an idea of what to expect when you do venture to play in a WSOP or WPT event.
Atlanta Poker Club Members Featured in Ante Up
The Atlanta Poker Club winners of special events will be featured in this poker magazine. Gil Nowell and Karen Brooks have already been spotlighted. Be sure and pick up a copy of “Ante Up” at all APC venues playing.
“Ante Up” copies are found in casinos, poker rooms and leagues throughout Florida, Mississippi, Louisiana, West Virginia, Arkansas, Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina.
You can take a look at the “Ante Up” poker magazine at their website, and remember to pick up your free copy at all APC venues… and if you don’t see them, just ask your Tournament Director. This is your chance to keep up on all poker information for our area!

The All Star Race for Summer ‘10 with The Atlanta Poker Club ended on June 30th. Being an APC All Star is being invited to play in one of the most prestigious tournaments of The Altanta Poker Club. Players who qualified for this tournament know they are playing some of the most skilled high caliber poker players in the Metro Atlanta area.

Grand Champion: At the end of each season, the APC hosts the largest tournament that the players have to place. The Grand Championship consists of players that have qualified by being in the top 50 in overall points for the season, be in the top 10 at an individual venue, win a season venue championship tournament, or win a monthly points tournament.
The prizes are grand as well with the winner taking home a $550 seat in a WSOP or WPT event in Tunica plus $150 in travel expenses as well as the coveted custom silver rectangular card guard. The Grand Champion also gets some cool APC gear and also gets automatic entry into the Yearly Championship.

All Stars: The All Star event is one of the more prestigious tournaments. There is a pre-set date to qualify, and in that time players must earn 2,000 points overall, be the points leader at any qualified venue, or win one of the Monthly Points Tournaments.

Monthly Winners: Every month, players have the opportunity to qualify for the monthly tournament. The top 60 in points each month qualify to play for $500 in prizes with the overall points leader taking an extra $100.
