New Season Just Started – Choose Your Venues

Atlanta Poker with the APC Fall Season ‘10 started August 1st and ends November 30th, and it is a great time to plan ahead at which venues you want to play in for the new season.

There is a venue to meet your specific needs. The APC has smoking venues, non-smoking venues, and some, a mixture of both. You have choices of locations in Atlanta, to Loganville, to Braselton, in other words, most areas around the Atlanta area – North and South.

Where To Play is a list of venues on the left lower side of the Leaderboard page. Take a look at the venues in your area!

We add new venues often and we always have a blog and a forum post to let you know the latest news. We also try to update you with the Latest APC News at the top of the Leaderboard page.

The calendar will give you the events a month at a glance, and in each venue entry it will give you a phone number and address of the location and a link to directions. The APC venues are listed on Google maps.

We have large venues with 50+ players where you can rack up points with just one win! Then we have the smaller venues of 20+ players where the atmosphere is more relaxed but if you win, the points earned are less than venues with the larger number of players. Some players feel it is easier to make the Top 10 at the smaller venues and if they can only play once a week, they will choose a small venue. Point is, you have choices to meet your needs.

We have APC online every Sunday night where you can compete in the regular online game that starts at 8:30 p.m., or the Heads Up game at 8:45 p.m. You can register and play in both at the same time! Please join us in the online league!

Most players work toward earning a seat in the Grand Championship, and here is a look at the qualifiers of the Grand Championship (GC) for Summer Season ‘10, and the Top 10 at every qualified venue at the end of the season earns a seat for the GC.

We also have a Yearly Championship Tournament that combines the winners of three seasons, and the Top Points Earner at each venue automatically qualifies for the Yearly Championship Tournament. Take a look at the last Yearly Championship Tournament qualifications.Some players think it is easier to earn points at the smaller venues but the competition is just as tough.

Venue Championships – Summer Season ‘10

Engraved Silver CoinAt the end of every season, the top 10 players on each night at every venue that has played 8 times, will play in the Championship at that venue. These are the players who have been consistent all season. The competition is tough, and the winner will receive an engraved silver coin. These Championship games take place between August 1 and August 7.

As an added bonus, the top 10 in points at each qualified venue will play in the Grand Championship for Summer Season ‘10, and the winner of the silver coin will automatically be in the Yearly Championship!

You have through July 31st to earn points for Summer Season ‘10!

The Summer Season ‘10 Grand Championship Tournament Information

The Summer ‘10 Grand Championship Prizes

  • The Grand Champion winner will receive a $550 WSOP or WPT Seat in Tunica plus $150 for travel. In addition to this they will receive the coveted custom rectangular Atlanta Poker Club engraved card guard, Trophy, APC gear, entry into the Yearly Championship Tournament, as well as a listing in the APC Hall of Fame.
  • The runner up or 2nd place player will receive $150 in Gift Cards plus choice of APC Gear.
  • 3rd place will receive $50 in Gift Cards plus choice of APC Gear.
  • 4th through 10th place finishers will receive choice of APC Gear.

You may earn bonus chips in the Season Grand Championship on the following scale:

  • 1st in overall points will receive 1500 Bonus Chips.
  • 2nd will receive 1000 Bonus Chips.
  • 3rd through 10th will receive 500 Bonus Chips.
  • Tournament Structure:This will be an antes style tournament using the following blinds structure.

Loco’s Grill & Pub Added Tuesday Nights

Loco’s Grill & Pub in Atlanta has added Tuesday nights to the popular Thursday night free Texas Hold’em tournaments. The players have been looking for an Atlanta venue on Tuesdays and Loco’s will be the place to be! This venue is known for its extensive menu, including delicious desserts, ice cold drinks, a large beer selection and full bar. Some of the friendly wait staff are devoted to the poker crowd exclusively!

We have a nice group of Atlanta Poker Club players at this venue and hope you will join the fun! The atmosphere is friendly and this venue pays frist, second, and third place with bar cash.
