Atlanta Poker Club – Poker for Points, Prizes and Prestige

The Atlanta Poker Club is regarded as the best played poker league by the overall poker community in metro Atlanta. The Atlanta Poker Club, or the “APC” has been operating fun and entertaining poker events combined with a challenging and rewarding poker league since April of 2004. We host and organize structured poker games at sportsbars, pubs and restaurants across metro Atlanta. If you are brand new to the APC, read this new APC players guide first. The people who make up the club are as varied as any group you can think of. Adults of all ages, races and walks of life come together to play in legal, fun and organized poker games within the Atlanta Poker Club and to compete in our engaging and challenging poker league.

The Poker League

The league consists of the points races and league challenges that are operating in conjunction with the nightly poker tournaments. If you finish in the top half of the field, up to 20 people, you win league points. The points are used to determine your rank against other players in the points races and challenges. There are multiple points races and challenges running all the time and there is always something to compete for. Members compete to win thousands of dollars worth of prizes & points for monthly, seasonal & yearly points races & challenges… all FREE when you join the Atlanta Poker Club! You can win all sorts of prizes like cash, seats in major casino poker tournaments, trophies, APC gear, and the most coveted of all, your own engraved APC silver card guard.

League Points Races and Challenges

Monthly Points Race (12 times per year, once each month)

Monthly Points Race

Earn as many points as possible from the 1st of the month through the final day of the month at any APC event. This points race starts over fresh on the first of each month and there is always something to compete for.

Qualification and Prizes

Everyone competes in the monthly points race
1st in overall points wins $100 + Seat in Seasonal Championship + Yearly Championship Tournament
1st – 60th in overall points earn a seat in the Monthly Points Tournament, where you play for cash prizes.

Monthly Points Tournament

The monthly points tournaments combines the top points earners each month to an invitation only tournament with $500 in the prize pool up for grabs.

Seasons – 4 Months To Earn the Most Points

Atlanta Poker Club has three seasons per year, each four months long. An APC year starts in Summer Season, April 1st, and ends in Winter Season, March 31, the following calendar year.

Summer Season: April 1 – July 31
Fall Season: Aug 1 – Nov 30
Winter Season: Dec 1 – Mar 31

At the conclusion of each season we hold venue specific championship tournaments. Usually the top 10 in points at each venue play for the Venue Championship. View the venue listing details for specific venue questions.

Venue Season Championship tournaments begin on first week of the following season (always check the calendar for any holiday adjustments). Please remember that the prizes for this tournament are venue specific.

Season Points Race

The Seasonal Points race is the league wide race to see who earns the most points over the entire season. The Seasonal Points Race winner gets the following prizes:

Season Grand Championship Tournament

The Seasonal Grand Championship is a league wide tournament held at the conclusion of each season and we give away seats into tournaments in Biloxi, Tunica or New Orleans. The Season Grand Champiopnship Tournament is scheduled to occur within 3-4 weeks after the season is complete.

Top 50 in Overall Points for the Season
Top 10 in any individual venue points race for the season

1st = $550 WSOP or WPT Seat in Tunica + $150 for Travel + Custom Rectangular Silver Card Guard + APC Gear + Entry Yearly Championship Tournament
2nd = $150 in Gift Cards + APC Gear
3rd = $50 in Gift Cards + APC Gear
4th – 10th = APC Gear

*You may earn bonus chips in the Season Championship on the following scale:

1st in overall points = 1500 Bonus Chips
2nd in overall points = 1000 bonus chips
3rd – 10th in overall points = 500 bonus chips

AllStars Tournament

All-Stars Season Tournament is the once per season event where the highest point earners from the season are qualified to play for the title of All-Stars Champion. Winning an AllStars tournament is one of the most prestigious awards that all APC members strive for. If you win this tournament, you beat the best of the best.

Qualification

Earn 2000 points or more within the first three months of the season. You have until the final day of third month each season to earn points.
Be a venue points leader at the end of the third month (8 events minimum to qualify).

Yearly Points Race

The Yearly Points is the race to earn the most points for the entire year, Summer season through Winter Season.

Everyone competes in this points race. The points race begins on Apr 01 and ends on Mar 31 the following calendar year.

Yearly Championship Tournament

The APC Yearly Championship tournament is the APC’s biggest tournament held each year. The Yearly championship is designed to award our biggest prize of the year, a seat into the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas! It is scheduled to take place once per year, at the conclusion of Winter Season which is March 31st each year . The yearly tournament combines factors and results from across all three seasons of the year.

You earn league points in the Atlanta Poker Club by:

Finishing in the top half of the field up to 20 in any regular APC event

Types of Poker You Can Play With the Atlanta Poker Club

Tournaments – No-Limit Texas Holdem Tournaments is the most common form of poker played at the Atlanta Poker Club. This is a standard freeze out tournament, when you lose your chips you are out of the game. 99% of the time, this is the game played at Atlanta Poker Club. The goal of tournament poker is survival.

Cash Game Simulation – In this game we still play no-limit texas holdem, but the blinds never increase and the goal is to win the most chips in the period of time the event is taking place. Survival is not the goal. Playing in this simulation is just like playing in a casino 2/5 cash game – except you are not playing for real money! Only chips which are completely free. It is completely free to play, chips have no cash value and you do not risk any money at all. Instead, you get to play a more low key style of poker play where you are not worried about increasing blinds or forced action. Instead you can take your time and get experience in the differences between playing tournaments vs cash games. If you want to experience a $2/5 ring game in the casino but don’t want to pony up the $500 buy-in, then this is your chance!
