Randy Smith has been with the APC since early 2005. Randy is known for his tight passive play. This has proved to work well for him as he has amassed 9 APC wins, but even though he has made several Grand Championship final tables, some of the more aggressive players have always seemed to have an edge on him. Randy’s game has come a long way and he is far from being a novice player. With a little more work and determination, he is sure to take his game to the next level and breakthrough with some premier tournament wins.

Favorite Poker Pro? I like Allen Cunningham’s quiet and reserved demeanor at the poker table. He makes excellent reads and always seems to make the right decisions.

Is there anything you still want to accomplish with the APC? Obviously I want to win a Grand Championship. I like to think I play my best in the big, high pressure tournaments but I can’t seem to take them down. I hope I get a chance to change this in the near future.

Who has influenced your play the most? My wife (Kim Smith) and I play a similar style and we have discussed many hands and strategies. She has helped make me a better poker player and a better person in life. T Vue has helped me with the emotional side of poker after taking a bad beat. I hope one day I can laugh and smile, like T, after I am put out of a tournament on the river by a one outer.

Any advice you can give to new members joining the APC? At the final table don’t get all your money in with the best hand; you will lose on the river for sure. All kidding aside, remember that you can do everything right at the poker table and still lose, so have fun.
